“The reason I wanted to volunteer was because I wanted to give back some of the help that I’d been given. I also  wanted to keep learning new things and I enjoy meeting people”.
“I feel that volunteering for ReCOM is rewarding and hopefully helping others! The support and help that’s given to the volunteers is very good I also find the staff at ReCOM very approachable.” Bev Henman, ReCOM IT Buddy

Beverley first came into contact with ReCOM back in 2014 as a participant on our “Silver Surfers” course.  The course ignited a passion to learn more about IT and the online world and so she progressed onto the Improvers class. Beverley’s confidence grew even more and, after participating in various classes with ReCOM,  Beverley’s Tutor suggested she should think about becoming a ReCOM volunteer.

In September 2015, Beverley became an official ReCOM IT buddy. Since then, she’s gone onto other projects including a bespoke training course with Anawim, Tablet Courses at various locations and a residential group at Saxon Court Extra Care Scheme in Chelmsley Wood.

Due to her enthusiasm to learn about other projects, Beverley has experience of all that we do and is such an asset to ReCOM.  She has a really approachable manner with our participants, able to put them at ease and empathise with any concerns they have about going digital!
