To cover the costs incurred in refurbishing computers we currently charge recipients from £100 for a desktop system. We aim to provide refurbished desktop computers with a minimum specification of a Pentium Dual Core processor (with a minimum of 1GB RAM/2.5ghz processor ), 17″ Flat Screen monitor, keyboard and mouse.

Each PC comes with a copy of Windows operating software through our membership of Microsoft’s Community MAR programme. The price also includes a 3 month non-accidental back to base warranty including parts and labour.

The basic cost excludes delivery: orders of up to 3 systems can be delivered for £15 per system.

We may be able to arrange this for you at a reasonable cost if you live in the Solihull/Birmingham area; please discuss with us.

Through our membership of the Microsoft Authorised Refurbisher (MAR) Scheme we pre-install a windows operating system; this is currently Windows 7.

They come with a three month non-accidental back to base warranty which includes parts and labour.

ReCOM has been accepted as a MAR. This means that we can install Windows on to PCs to be received by qualifying charitable organisations and eligible individual recipients..

Microsoft do specify some conditions.  A copy of the agreement is installed on the PC’s we provide and can be accessed from the desktop.  This Agreement restricts the use of the software to the machine on which it was installed.

Basic software can be preloaded if you wish at your own expense

Business Donations

PCs and laptops must be at least a Pentium Dual Core /2.8ghz (or Athlon equivalent). MACs cannot be accepted at this time. As a general rule of thumb we are looking for equipment which is less than 5 years old.

Our aim is to match applicants’ needs against offered donations and it is necessary for us to specify a minimum level in order to achieve this end.

ReCOM can usually accept a wide variety of items including Notebooks, Laptops, PC base units , TFT ( flat screen) monitors, Keyboards, Mice.

All equipment must be clean and in working order.

If you would like to discuss donations please call on call us on 0121 663 0335 or email admin@recom.org.uk

Donating equipment to ReCOM will:

  • Streamline disposal of used working equipment,
  • Eliminate transfer and/or storage costs,
  • Reduce administrative time and expenses,
  • Enhance your philanthropic efforts within the community and show you take Corporate Social Responsibility seriously,

At a minimum cost to your business
