Your Privacy is Important to us

This notice informs you how we use the information you give us and how we protect your privacy.  It also explains your rights under the UK Data Protection Act (update 2018) and the EU General Data Protection Regulations 2018.  We abide by UK Law and our data protection regulator within the UK is the Information Commissioners Office (details below).

Collecting of and purpose for your information

ReCOM provides IT training to residents in the Solihull and Birmingham area, sells refurbished computers to people across the UK and provides training services to other organisations in our local area. To provide these services, we may need to collect personal data such as name, address, contact details and other personal details which help us assess your eligibility for the services we offer and tailor our training to meet your particular needs. Additionally ReCOM is required to collect information to monitor its compliance with its Equal Opportunities Policy.

Withholding of the required data may mean that we are unable to provide a service to you.

For our employees, volunteers and other associates who are part of our service delivery team we collect personal data and maintain personnel records in line with statutory requirements and best practice.

Sharing your data

We will always take great care of your personal data giving it the respect and security it deserves when it is being processed by our employees and associates (e.g. trainers and volunteers). We will not share your information with third parties unless we have obtained additional consent from you.

Your rights regarding your data

  • We will not hold your information for any longer than is necessary.
  • Should your data be inaccurate we will rectify this without delay
  • Should you wish us to delete your data at any point, please contact the office as shown below to make the request. This will be actioned unless there is a lawful basis for us to retain the information in which case you will be advised accordingly
  • You can request access to your data at any time. We will provide you with a full copy within 30 days of your request
  • You can withdraw consent to us holding and processing your information at any time. Please contact the office as shown below should you wish to do this
